This year’s
Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) is really going to tougher and bigger,
because the industry awards alone was really great and has said it all for the
real showdown (VGMA) which is coming on Saturday 3rd May 2014. I
have gone through all the nominations, in all categories; I must say all the
artists in all the categories really deserve the nominations, even though some
of the nominees are not happy with the list that is out because they were not
placed in categories in which they had so much faith they could win. Others also
feel they ought to have been in more categories than they found themselves; others
too were also excited with their nominations regardless of where they were placed.
In any case, there are musicians and songs that were also left out; probably they
never submitted their entries or something or their music did not meet the
criteria for selection
However, I must commend the organizers of VGMA and all other stake holders involve. Ghana Music Award is really getting to the point where it can be compared to other western countries music awards. From the stage craft, organizing, the rep carpet, social networ

The Ultimate Award in every Music Award is the overall artist of the year. This is the category with much attention from music lovers. The nominations for this year’s (VGMA) Artist of the year is really the most difficult one to predict, because all the artists that made it to this category has made the people of Ghana danced to their rhythms at a point this last year and this year, and have shown the people of Ghana and the world what they are capable of doing The Lapaz Toyota by GURU, Azonto fiesta by one of the best rap on planet earth from Africa SARKODIE, Enter d net by African Dance hall king SHATTA WALE, Baaba (God) by world’s sensational gospel singer SONY BADU, Summer party and girls everywhere by another King of Africa Dance hall SAMINI, African girls by Ghana’s number high-life artist CASTRO and my favourite of all time Aso by Ghana’s soul, cool, romantic lyrical musician KWABENA KWABENA..These are songs that has made Ghanians to put on their dancing shoes...
