Blog Readers, Beware as Fraudsters Parade Fake Girls on Facebook

Many users of Facebook will agree that they have, at one time or another, received phoney messages from strange but attractive looking ladies on the .social networking site.
While some people have been able to separate the scam mails from the genuine ones, others have not been smart enough to know the difference. The latter easily fall prey to the tactics of faceless con men who hide beneath false identities to defraud them.
Pretending to be young ladies aged between 18 and 26 years, the criminals often target men that are naturally drawn to pretty women. Investigation shows that they always use freshly opened Facebook accounts – the types that display one or two sensual pictures of a woman and very few ‘friends’ – to bait their victims.

Having successfully ‘wooed’ their unsuspecting victim, they tactically send short messages that begin with phrases, such as, ‘How are you?’ and ‘Can I be your friend?’

As soon as they receive a response, they move on to the next stage, flirting with the victim before going on to squeeze as much money as they can get from him.

It is not difficult to spot these fake ‘girls’ on Facebook by simply observing certain similarities in their personal data. For instance, their names are as unreal as their pictures look.

Imagine receiving a messages from a certain Franklin Ariel Cortez Garcia who begins his love note by writing, “Hello, my name is Precious. Please reply me so I can send my pictures to you through my email address, mypreciousbabygal@yahoo.com.”

Another letter may read, “Hello, I just went through your profile and I like what I see. I want to know you better please reply through my email so we can know each other better. Waiting to see your mail.”

Although Facebook tries to eliminate such fraudulent messages by marking them as spam shortly after they have reached their victims, some hapless persons may fall prey before such cleansing takes place.

It is important to note that beyond the tricks, the simple explanation is that they are ‘419’ men luring people into parting with their hard-earned cash by operating fake Facebook accounts.

While the trend isn’t peculiar to Nigeria, a US-based Facebook group called Stop Nigerian 419 scams (Stomp out Scams)has been created to help everyone “become aware of, recognize and avoid falling victim to all types of Nigerian style scams, including romance, advance payment and foreign lottery scams.”

The good news is that Nigerians can avoid falling victim to these con men by taking certain precautionary measures, such as activating the privacy setting on their Facebook accounts and treating subsequent requests for friendship, especially from persons they hardly know, with suspicion.

The subject has been trending on social media with some victims of the scams recounting their experiences. Lamenting the ugly trend, @LODAFRIQ wrote, “I receive an average of two scam messages of this type daily on Facebook. #fraudsters #yahooyahoo #ole #419 .

A certain Lorliam Shija says, “Lilia Princess Edson, Rosemary Ndadaye ,Angela Mpka..are the three 419 people that sent me seductive messages last week.” Also, Ben Ezemalu wrote, “All these ‘girls’ sending me Facebook messages with e-mail addresses think I have never see a pretty girl!”

Then @imuss added a note of warning, “Only 10 per cent of boys are talking with girls on Facebook. The remaining 90 per cent are talking with fake accounts”.

2 fans arrested for taunting Asamoah Gyan over Castro's disappearance

Source: The Chronicle
Asamoah Gyan and Castro
Two football fanatics were reportedly arrested by the Police at the Baba Yara Sports Wednesday after they attempted to inquire from the Captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, about the whereabouts of the missing hiplife artiste, Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known Castro.
The fans, who are said to be students of the Koforidua Polytechnic, were reported to have hooted at the Black Stars Skipper, shouting at him to produce the body of his close pal and music icon, Castro.
According to reports gathered by The Chronicle, Asamoah Gyan, who was irked by the ranting from the football fans, reported the matter to some security officers present at the stadium and quickly asked them to effect the arrest of the two students.
The Black Stars are currently in the Garden City preparing feverishly for an African Cup of Nations Qualifying match against their Ugandan counterparts.
At the time of filing this report, the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Mohammed Tanko could not confirm the arrest and told this reporter that the information had not come to his attention.
Reports, however, indicate that the police are holding the wrong people, as the two students, in the course of the arrest, protested vehemently about their innocence and insisted they were not the ones who hooted at the Black Stars skipper.
The police would, however, not take any of their pleas and rather hauled them into a vehicle, before driving them out of the stadium.
The hiplife icon, has since July, this year, been missing, after he was reported to have gone on a jet ski with a lady friend, Janet Bandu, on the Peace Holiday Resort, in the Eastern Region.
The musician, who is presumed dead in some quarters, went to the resort together with his close pal and ace footballer, Asamoah Gyan.
Since his disappearance, there have been lots of conspiracy theories, with some accusing his footballer friend of allegedly being responsible for the missing hiplife artiste.

My symptoms never progressed to the worst stages of the disease. [Compared to] the people that I’ve seen dying horrible deaths, I had some unpleasant symptoms but nothing compared to the worst of the disease.”
Before contracting the virus, Pooley had helped to save scores of lives in Sierra Leone.
The man was interviewed several days before he had developed Ebola symptoms and expressed joy over aiding people. He was quoted saying:
“It’s great seeing them walk away after some of them have been in a terrible state. Seeing them recover and walk out the door, it’s great.”

Pastor WF. Kumuyi Counsels Nigerians On Ebola

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has spoken once again on the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

While speaking on Sunday, 31 August, 2014 during a worldwide satellite broadcast to members of  his church, Kumuyi urged Nigerians to develop good health habits to avoid contracting the deadly Ebola Virus Disease, EVD.
Kumuyi also challenged Nigerians to do more for their safety and health, aside praying.
“Many people have the idea that it is only prayer that gets them well and make them whole and healthy.
“If you look at the Scriptures, you will discover that there are a number of things that contribute to our healing and health.
“These things include our habits, holiness, hope, home, happiness, hospitality and hygiene,” Kumuyi said while speaking on the topic, ‘Healing and Health for the Whole Man’.
He also added that people should not neglect basic health rules that will keep them from contracting the Ebola Virus.
“Hygiene plays a great part in our health. The Ebola epidemic that people just recognised in Nigeria was first discovered in 1976. It’s been on for a long time.
“If you’re not hygienic, you can contract the disease. For example, If you don’t wash your hands often, or you stay with someone who has the disease, it is contagious; and if there is the passing of fluids from one person to another, you may also get it. But if you keep yourself hygienic, it keeps sicknesses from coming upon you. That’s why you read in the Old Testament, ‘touch not the unclean things’,” he added.
While quoting from Proverbs 13 verse 3, Kumuyi said the misuse of the tongue had also brought untold suffering and sickness on some people.
He urged sick folks to anchor their hope on Christ, adding that there was provision for their healing in the Scriptures if they believe.
The Ebola virus has claimed six casualties in Nigeria since a Liberian diplomat, Patrick Sawyer, imported it to Lagos on 20 July, 2014.
Only last week, over 160 people were place on observation in Port Harcourt, Rivers State after a medical doctor died in the state from Ebola disease to make it Nigeria’s sixth casualty.

Blog Readers, Meet The Nigerian Woman Who Gave Birth To a white baby (See Photos)

Nigerian woman Catherine Howarth who is married to a British has beaten odds of a million-to-one by giving birth to a baby who appears to be of a different race. Catherine was taken back when she saw her son Jonah for the first time. With his pale skin, green eyes and light brown hair, Jonah, now three months old has no feature to show he is mixed parentage.
Recalling the moment she delivered Jonah in Milton Keynes Hospital on June 1, his mother told the Sunday Mirror:
‘Some children get darker after a few weeks when the skin colour they will have for life starts to become obvious. But you can see from the colour at the tips of their ears what that Jonah was fully white.
We have been told I must have been carrying a recessive gene. My parents were from Nigeria and, for as far back as anyone can remember; my family have all been black.’
Husband Richard, 34, who works as a medical recruitment consultant, was equally as shocked when he first saw his son:
‘The colour of Jonah’s skin is of no concern - Jonah being a healthy and happy baby is what matters.’
In 2010, Nigerian parents Benjaman and Angela Ihegboro (pictured right) welcomed their white-skinned, blonde-haired daughter Nmachi. The couple, from Woolwich, South London, was as baffled as the scientific community at their daughter's appearance, being unaware of any white heritage at all in either family.
In 2010  little Nmachi (centre) was born to parents Benjaman and Angela Ihegboro

Neymar Jr. Possibly Facing Club Penalty for Autograph Controversy

Seems dumb, but it could be serious.
Barcelona star Neymar could be in trouble for an innocent act.
At Sunday's Barça win against Villarreal at El Madrigal, Neymar was warming up to enter the pitch, along with Montoya and Sergi Roberto. All of a sudden, the Brazilian stopped his exercises to attend the fans close to him. Ney signed a boot and shake some fans' hands. After that, he went back to the warm-up routine, and later entered the game for Munir.
You can see the incident below:
watch here
As innocent as it seems, Mundo Deportivo reports that some within the club saw this as a disrespectful attitude, and some think Neymar wasn't concentrated enough in the match.
Well, he did a very good job on the pitch when he entered, and had an important contribution in the play that ended up with the game-winning goal by Sandro.
Still, the report says that there's a possibility Neymar could be penalized for such an innocent thing. What do you think, Barça fans? Is it too harsh to Ney? Is it fair?

Wizkid finally addresses recent beef with Davido

In an interview with Olisa Adibua on his new TV program called The Truth, Wizkid opened up on his recent beef with Davido. Below is what he said;

"That situation was just so funny to me because we were all on the same flight. I got back, I was really tweeting about my show. I was talking about myself. I had a show in New York before that, that was like a year ago, or two years ago, it was sold out, sound was bad, venue we used was crazy....it was f**ked up. I land for airport nah, I was going to my hotel, drove through the venue, I saw my name in lights, and I saw my venue and I was like "Wow! This is me?" Came down, took a picture , posted it - I do proper shows, proper venues. People started catching feelings" Continue... "Everyone should be mad at that. If that was the case, then everyone like Iyanya, everyone that has done shows in the US should say something.

"When I saw that, it was funny. It was all just play. I no get time abeg. I do proper shows. So if you get mad at that, that means, why you mad? You don't do proper shows, proper venues? Why are you mad? I wasn't talking about nobody. I was promoting my show. I feel like if I'm doing something for myself, happy about my success and you are hating at my success, I don' know what to say to you. Should I consider you as a friend or foe? I don't know"
When Olisa asked him if he would consider Davido as a friend, Wizkid said...

"Me I'm cool with everybody. I'm easy with everyone. If you don't come at me, I won't come at you. If you pray for me, I pray for you. If you swear for me, I go swear make God punish you! "

I have a 3 year old son. I have more important issues to deal with in my life. I have real life problems. I'm not into no beefs. I'm just trying to survive. Live my life!
He also said his new album will be his last with EME.
