EASTER MONDAY IN ACCRA

EASTER MONDAY

@the beach

  Easter Monday is the day after Easter Sunday and is celebrated as a holiday in some largely Christian cultures, especially Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox cultures. Easter Monday in the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar is the second day of the octave of Easter Week and analogously in the Eastern Orthodox Church is the second day of Bright Week. In Ghana and most countries this year’s Easter Monday fell on the 15th of April

I was in the heart of Accra (Osu) on Easter monday,just to find out how people were celebrating the Easter holiday...Most shops were closed the few shops that were opened, closed by mid-day. All roads led to the beach, from Bojo beach, Ladabi beach and the Independence Square (Bolla) beach and other social centres were all filled up. Some friends and family were also had picnics in different location, soccer competitions were organised at the Accra Sport Stadium, I noticed some people also came out alone probably to relief stress, think or observe whiles some people also spent time at homes with their loves one.

Police ensuring security
 The Ghana Police Service (MTTU) was also at their best by ensuring traffic control, safety of revellers all over major entertaining places and areas in Accra...Hope you all had a wonderful Easter Monday...
